Thymus Thump

A healthy exercise for conscious parents and their spiritual kids.
This is something I came across in my Shiatsu research.

This is a very simple exercise to be performed twice a day – once in the morning when you wake up (you can even do it while still in bed to help you clear the sleep away) and once in the afternoon (not too close to bed time as it will energise you and may interfere with your ability to fall asleep).

Ok, so what you do is this...

Using a loose fist, thump at your chest  - yes, like a gorilla! You’re aiming for the area in the middle of the chest just below the top of the breast bone (ie below your neck on the hard part) but if you’re not sure where then thump away covering the whole chest area. Do this for about one minute. Try to use a 3 part beat like you’re dancing the waltz... So, the first thump is harder, followed by two slightly softer taps... ONE two three ONE two three ONE two three.

I read somewhere that the greatest journey we will take in this lifetime is the one foot from the head to the heart. That is the idea here.... To bring awareness into the heart centre and to stimulate the heart chakra / energy centre. The heart is the key to unconditional love, which is a prerequisite for transcendence.

The Thymus Thump, as its name suggests, also stimulates the Thymus gland (thymos, in Greek, meaning life energy). The Thymus gland is responsible for boosting the immune, and so a great one for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere heading into Winter now. It also clears energy blockages, and stimulates energy, vitality and positivity.

The Thymus Thump has a cumulative effect, so keep at it beyond this week if you can for added benefits.

Wishing you a happy, healthy and energised week!
